This small lemon sponge wedding cake has an 8" bottom tier and tall 6" top tier. Covered with white marzipan and white icing. The white floral design is first piped and then brushed onto the cake, to create a 3-d pattern, like raised embroidery. Very time consuming, I think it was worth it. The finished cake looks classic and simple, yet beautiful.
This design would also make an elegant birthday cake, or first communion cake. The design works equally well in cream or any other pale colour. The bride chose to leave the top of this cake plain, however, it would look lovely topped with a display of fresh flowers.
